Welcome!
My name is April Bonazzi. I am a Charleston native and since my very early years I have always had an insatiable love for animals. I grew up in the rural Charleston area where my family had a small farm...and an automotive business. My earliest memories all include animals and I knew early on that I would dedicate my life to animals in one way or another. I was very active in 4H as a youngster and I competed in many animal oriented activities such as raising, training, judging and showing horses as well as canine behavior and training. With my strong history in animal training and care and my parents encouragement, it was only natural for me to pursue a career in the veterinary field and it has allowed me to continue my love affair with our four legged friends.
I have worked in the veterinary field as a Veterinary Technician for 20 years with both large and small animal practices. I have worked and excelled in some of the best animal hospitals in the Charleston area and have received the best AHAA accredited technician training these hospitals have to offer. I am currently the Practice Manager of a large veterinary practice in North Charleston, SC. This position has allowed me to, both, interact with pets (and their people), as well as set and manage policies for the overall wellness of all of our patients. I believe that by caring for the animals (and teaching their humans about their pet's health), that I can contribute to the overall pet health in the Lowcountry and even beyond!
I have been married to my wonderful (and very understanding husband) for 17 years and we have two sons, ages 12 and 8. We reside in Huger, SC which is located about 30 minutes outside of Charleston, on our mini farm, which is nestled in the middle of the Francis Marion National Forest. We share our lives with 5 dogs (3 of them are Frengles), 1 cat, and a large flock of laying hens (yes, they are all named and spoiled on a daily basis!).
